NAACP Saginaw Branch will host two virtual candidate forums

Saginaw, MI — The NAACP Saginaw Branch will host two virtual candidate forums with the first scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. for candidates seeking election to the Saginaw School District Board of Trustees.  The second forum will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. for candidates Saginaw City Council.   All candidates for each contest have been invited to participate.  The format for each forum will include an opportunity for each candidate to introduce themselves to voters and list their reasons for seeking elective office.  There will be a series of questions prepared by the NAACP that candidates will be asked to respond to and the public will also be afforded an opportunity direct questions to  the candidates.  Both forums will be live-streamed on Facebook on the  NAACP Saginaw Branch Facebook page.    

President of the Saginaw Branch, Terry Pruitt, states, “It is well recognized that the contests for Saginaw School Board and Saginaw City Council are two of the most visible and contested local races in the in the November 3, 2020  General election.  There are quality candidates competing in each contest and voters are encouraged to tune in to educate themselves about the various candidates as they make their individual decisions about these two contests. All voters are encourage to view the forums.
