Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce announces endorsements for November 5 election

SAGINAW, MI – Eugene Seals, Jr., President and CEO of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, has officially announced the Chamber’s endorsements for the upcoming general election on November 5, 2024. The endorsements cover key races for State Congress, State Representatives, County Commissioners, and Saginaw City Council.

The endorsements were determined through a thorough evaluation process conducted by the Chamber’s screening and endorsement committee. Candidates were required to complete a survey, and their responses were assessed based on the Chamber’s legislative priorities, which focus on fostering a healthy business environment, job creation, economic growth, and community development in Saginaw County. However, it is important to note that not all candidates were made aware of the survey, and only those who completed and returned it were considered for endorsement.

The Chamber’s endorsements for the 2024 election include:

State Congress, 8th District:

  • Kristen McDonald Rivet (D)

State Representatives:

  • 93rd District: Tim Kelly (R)
  • 94th District: Amos O’Neal (D)
  • 97th District: Matthew Bierlein (R)

County Commissioners:

  • District 2: Jack Tany (D)
  • District 5: Tracey Slodowski (R)
  • District 7: John Kaczynski (R)
  • District 9: Christopher Boyd (D)
  • District 10: Lisa Coney (D)
  • District 11: Michael Webster (D)

Saginaw City Council:

  • Annie Boensch
  • George Copeland, Jr.
  • Bill Ostash
  • Jacinta JJ Seals
  • Reggie Williams II
