FLINT, MI — Leadership Flint & Genesee, a development initiative from Flint & Genesee Education & Talent, is now accepting proposals for its 2024/2025 capstone project. This year’s cohort, consisting of eight local professionals, began their journey in September, focused on advancing their leadership skills through monthly trainings, one-on-one coaching, and the completion of a community-based capstone project.

“We are excited to continue the tradition of leadership training in Flint & Genesee with our newest cohort,” said Brianna Mosier, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent. “Over the next several months, our cohort will have the opportunity to apply their learnings by supporting a local nonprofit through a meaningful community impact project.”

Flint & Genesee Education & Talent has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Genesee County. The selected project should address a specific community need, be substantial enough for active cohort involvement, and provide the nonprofit with a resource-intensive project that may otherwise be unattainable. In addition to hands-on support, the cohort will assist in raising funds and gathering materials necessary for the project’s completion.

Local nonprofits are encouraged to submit proposals that go beyond basic fundraising, with a focus on long-term community impact. The alumni advisory committee will review submissions and select three finalists to present their ideas to the cohort, who will then choose the project to pursue.

Proposals for the 2024/2025 RFP should be submitted by November 15, 2024, via email to bmosier@flintandgenesee.org. More information about Leadership Flint & Genesee can be found at EducateFlintandGenesee.org/LeadershipFG.
