MIDLAND, MI — Local nonprofits across the Great Lakes Bay Region are invited to apply for the 2025 #TeamUp for the Great Lakes Bay Region grant program, with applications open through March 14, 2025. The initiative, part of the Dow Championship’s commitment to community impact, offers critical funding to support charitable organizations in Saginaw, Bay, Midland, and Isabella counties.

Since its inception in 2019, the #TeamUp program has awarded more than $2.5 million to over 60 nonprofits, including impactful organizations such as the Saginaw Bay Community Sailing Association. Last year, the association received a bonus donation of $11,000 for being paired with the 2024 champions, Jeeno Thitikul and Ruoning Yin.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous support through the #TeamUp program in 2024,” said Stan Dent, President of the Saginaw Bay Community Sailing Association. “This contribution, alongside the Great Lakes Bay Region Charitable Giving program, has made a meaningful impact on our ability to expand our sailing programs and provide more opportunities for the community to engage with sailing.”

The grant program selects 36 nonprofits each year, including seven from each of the four counties and eight additional organizations with regional impact. Nonprofits will be evaluated based on their contributions to STEM education, sustainability, skilled trades, and community development. Each selected nonprofit will receive a minimum grant of $4,500, with additional funding opportunities to be announced later.

Selected nonprofits will be randomly paired with one of the 72 teams competing in the 2025 LPGA Dow Championship, which will take place at the Midland Country Club from June 23 to 29. A total of $237,000 will be distributed through the #TeamUp program this year.

The Dow Championship continues to collaborate with the Midland Area Community Foundation, Bay Area Community Foundation, Saginaw Community Foundation, Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation, and the Dow Great Lakes Bay Region Grant Team to ensure a seamless grant management process.
