The Flint Fire Department welcomes back Ronald Stamps as Deputy Fire Chief.

Flint, MI – The City of Flint and the Flint Fire Department are pleased to announce the return of Ronald Stamps to the department, assuming the role of Deputy Fire Chief.

“We are excited to have Ronald Stamps back with the Flint Fire Department,” said Mayor Sheldon Neeley. “Deputy Chief Stamps brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him upon his return to Flint that cannot be matched.”

A native of California, Stamps was raised in Detroit and embarked on his firefighting career with the Flint Fire Department in 1985 after serving in the United States Marine Corps. He dedicated 23 years to the department, retiring at the rank of Fire Marshall, the third-highest position.

During his time away from the department, Stamps pursued further education in electronics, leading to successful careers in both the telecommunications and biomedical fields. Expressing his enthusiasm about returning, Deputy Chief Stamps remarked, “It feels good, just like old times.”
